‘Twas another night of double teething
And all through the house,
Not a creature was sleeping
Except for of course, my loudly snoring spouse.
The babies were screaming at the top of their lung
‘Though many a nursery rhyme and lullaby had been sung.
We rocked and cuddled, snuggled tight on my lap
I watched the clock tick on and hoped tomorrow holds a simultaneous nap.
We read story after story from Peter Rabbit to Goodnight Moon
Mama watched tiny cheeks turn rosy
And hoped the Tylenol would kick in soon.
My poor little monkeys with such sore mouths at the same time.
Two babies teething at once?
It must be some sort of crime!
Please teeth, come in quickly!
Each night my babies wake up and weep
I hope the bum rash and fevers fade tomorrow
So we can all get some sleep!
